About James

I am a versatile musician with extensive experience in both trumpet and piano. Having trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, I have performed in a wide range of settings, from classical concerts to jazz ensembles, including appearances at the Royal Albert Hall and on a Netflix Agatha Christie murder mystery. Alongside my performance work, I have experience teaching students of different ages and abilities, helping them build strong technique, musicality, and confidence. Whether on piano or trumpet, I aim to create lessons that are engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student's individual goals.

About the lesson

I will explain and break down the essential techniques that'll improve your ability quickly. With a deep understanding in jazz, I will incorporate this to keep the lessons fun and engaging. I'm also a pianist who loves to sight-read and can guide you through different methods to help. This was a skill I acquired quickly so it's still fresh in my mind, and I will use the same methods to help you! My lessons are aimed at any age and I will change my teaching approach to accommodate.
