About Federica
Federica Ferraro, aka Ferraglia. Illustrator and cartoonist. Graduated with honors in Comics Languages at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. Previously I obtained a three-year diploma in Illustration and Engraving at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. Over the years I have had the opportunity to participate in several drawing workshops and collective and personal exhibitions. Experience in the field of teaching through workshops and courses aimed at finding one's own expressive sign. In 2018 I created a summer course called "Drawings from the subsoil", and that is the format I intend to be able to for my lessons.

Course description: "Draw from the subsoil" is a course aimed at discovering the possibilities of the innate sign that each of us possesses and which, in most cases, is hidden or manipulated by what we believe to be "artistic beauty" . But what is the subsoil? The concept of the subsoil, in Dostoevsky, is understood as the sphere of psychic life, in its free and irrational intimacy, necessarily in contrast with the laws of the external world. The subsoil is a radical disharmony between what is intimate and shapeless and what has social outlets. Subsoil is the absence of any law or convenience imposed by the company or neighbor. The aim of the course is therefore to provide the necessary tools to search for our most primitive sign, our truest expression, in which the concept of beautiful and ugly lapses. The course is open to all those who want to get involved and discover themselves, designers or not.
