About Nicole
Hello,
I am Nikki Miller. I am a marine biologist from Lincoln, Nebraska. I came to New Zealand eight years ago to follow my dream of becoming a marine biologist and I am very happy I did. I have had many wonderful experiences over the years here including conducting rural research on the offshore islands here as well as in Papua New Guinea as well as becoming a PADI SCUBA diving instructor. I have had the opportunity to teach undergraduate students at the University of Waikato how to write research papers including understanding and conducting their statistical analysis. I have also had the opportunity to run biology labs on DNA analysis and extraction as well as seaweed sporing. Most recently I have had the opportunity to go down to the East Cape and set up an aquaculture facility for the community to learn and conduct research in. I have always had a love for the ocean and getting to share that love and excitement with students by engaging them with sciences is a very rewarding way to spend my time.

I offer customizable lessons with different learning perspectives based on the needs of the individual. I enjoy combining lectures with interactive quizzes and hands on learning. Each student learns differently and emphasize making a plan based on the information needed and the way in which the student learns best.
I have experience student lecturing at the University of Waikato in genetics, aquaculture, statistical analysis and scientific report writing as well as creating and conducting rural hands on courses in the East Cape teaching aquaculture design, maintenance, and fish husbandry.
I offer lessons for everyone from secondary school to university undergrad. If you need lessons or ideas for STEM courses for primary schools, I am happy to put things together.
I prefer to go to the student for the lesson or meet in a location accessible to both the tutor and applicant.
