About Tao

I graduated from the Academy of Arts & Design at Tsinghua University in 1992. With a lifelong passion for Chinese calligraphy, painting, and traditional arts, I have dedicated myself to appreciating and preserving China’s rich artistic heritage.

I currently reside in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, where I hope to share my knowledge, experience, and love for traditional Chinese culture with the next generation and students from around the world.

Through my teaching, I aim not only to pass on traditional artistic techniques but also to inspire creativity, encourage cultural exchange, and build meaningful connections with people from diverse backgrounds. I believe that art is a universal language that brings people and cultures together.

About the lesson

My lessons cover traditional Chinese calligraphy, from pen writing to brush techniques. Each lesson incorporates rich historical and cultural insights relevant to the art of Chinese calligraphy, helping students not only develop their writing skills but also gain a deeper appreciation of Chinese history, culture, and artistic traditions.
