About Karla
I was born and raised in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Spanish, inspired by a deep interest in exploring the richness of the Spanish language. Growing up in a border town Matamoros and neighboring Brownsville made the learning process more accessible, as Spanish is spoken by over 90% of the population. I later pursued and completed a Master’s degree in Spanish Literature, driven by a passion for learning about diverse cultures, particularly Latin American and Peninsular studies. This academic journey was important to me, as I wanted to discover whether our border town shared cultural ties or similarities with other Spanish-speaking regions.
