About Me:

With 9 years of experience in the design industry, I am dedicated to inspiring confidence and delivering professional results to my clients and students. My expertise lies in creating distinctive design lessons that leave a lasting impression on my students. Throughout my career, I have collaborated with diverse clients across various sectors such as retail, food and beverage, and healthcare.

In 2019, I established a boutique agency that allows me to make decisive decisions and work efficiently, and also allows me time to teach design students, which is a passion of mine! I take pride in my expertise at brand design and advertising work. Notable clients include Venmo, Left Hand Brewing, and Sound Sparkling Water.

I'm currently pursuing my MFA in illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design, I am deeply passionate about bringing ideas to life through captivating hand-drawn artwork and sharing the knowledge I've gained in graduate school with other aspiring designers. I firmly believe that the fusion of strong branding and stunning illustrations empowers businesses to stand out in today's competitive marketplace and I want to show others how to deliver strong designs and branding as well.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I indulge in my love for skiing, having explored renowned resorts like Breckenridge, CO, and the French Alps for over 20 years. Additionally, I have a sassy cat named Magic who keeps me on my toes and who likes to make an appearance during my teaching sessions sometimes!

About the lesson

As a graphic design tutor, I believe in a personalized approach to teaching. I adapt my methods to suit each student's learning style and goals. In a typical lesson, we'll dive into industry techniques, explore design principles, and work on practical projects. What sets me apart is my 9 years of professional experience, SCAD education, and guest lecturing background. Whether you're a beginner or seeking to enhance your skills, my lessons are tailored for aspiring designers of all levels and backgrounds.

Example Lesson Plan: Adobe Illustrator - Exploring Vector Art and Essential Tools

Duration: 2 hours

Introduction (15 minutes)

Briefly discuss the concept of vector art and its advantages over raster-based graphics.
Explain the importance of Adobe Illustrator and its applications in design projects.
Engage students by discussing their favorite vector artists and showcasing famous logos created using Illustrator.

Illustrator vs. Photoshop (20 minutes)
