About Konstantinos

I have a wealth of experience in teaching every age group and every level of capability. Working closely with schools, specifically children of a secondary age, I have a great understanding of the learning requirements of students of this level. I find it easy to build a good rapport with my students, which encourages good communication from both sides. I am currently responsible for teaching a large number of students across Cheshire East, many of whom complete various grades of Guitar Exams (Rockschool, Trinity, ABRSM) with a 100% high level pass rate, as well as a student who recently received the Sandbach Concert Series Award.

About the lesson

I believe that teaching is not just a simple procedure of conveying knowledge and expecting students to learn the various aspects of a subject. As a teacher I must be, first and foremost, inspiring and influential to my students, in order for them to have a desire to research my chosen subject further, outside of class, and not just in order to please their parents or myself.

Music as art and science has always been a subject that people understand better when they listen to it and have a chance to become emotionally involved with it, rather than when an individual tries to explain dots on paper, or gives a lecture about it.

In my experience, every person responds differently to learning and some are less interested in learning how to play the guitar than others at first. I address this by tailoring lessons to suit individual student needs. It is extremely important to me that each individual receives equal opportunity to promote their own work. A fair and firm approach, that promotes respect and appreciation between the teacher and the pupils, is essential.

In an endless array of data and information that the young people of today are surrounded with, it is crucial that a teacher identifies legitimate resources which eliminate confusion rather than add to it. I believe it is a teacher's responsibility to prevent their students from having to deal with an overwhelming amount of information.
