About Priyanka
I am Priyanka R, a Kuchipudi practioner from Dallas-Forworth area. And as part of my initiative Om Natyalaya in Dallas, Texas, I train various students. I started learning Andhra Natyam under Guru Kala Krishna and Perini Kumar. But soon fell in love with the grace of Kuchipudi and learnt Kuchipudi under tutelage of Smt. Sailaja Sairam and Guru Mahankali Mohan from Kuchipudi Village, a legendary Nattuvangam Expert. I am under the tutelage of wonderful Gurus like Dr. Yashoda Thakur, Dr. Anupama Kylash, Dr. Yamini Kurati, Guru Uma Muralidaran and have taught at various academies in Irving, Frisco, McKinney, Celina. I had been teaching various students of all age groups over the years.
I have my name registered with the Guinness Book of World Records and have performed at various venues including, Children’s Film Festivals, Silicon Andhra, IKDF, Tyagaraja Gaana Sabha, Ravindra Bharati to name a few in India. I had also performed at Telugu Association of North America (TANA), North America Telugu Association (NATA), and coordinated with a Jewish synagogue in Houston, Texas to explore the commonalities in ancient Hindu and Jewish cultures. I am also certified in contemporary modern dance from Brookhaven Community College, USA.
I also hold a certificate in Carnatic music and continue to finesse my knowledge from accomplished vocalists. I am an Indian Raga Fellow and pursuing Masters in Kuchipudi at Aria University, Milpitas, CA.

There are lot of advantages in pursuing traditional dance forms in the US as they add to the credits. I can guide and path a way to give such exams and get credits for their future. I can help students if they want to build a career in dance as well. My teaching is holistic covering both practical and theoretical aspects.
