About Octavia
I have more than eight years of experience as a music teacher, both privately and for different programs and music schools. For the past five years I have teaching at several New York City area public schools. I have had the opportunity to see young children grow from beginner musicians to pursuing music as professionals.
I also have vast experience as bilingual music teacher (English - Spanish) for kids ages 3 to 10.

Lesson structure: I adapt lesson structure to the student's level, experience and interests.
Methodology: I use an interactive style for teaching, trying to make the student build good practice and study habits. I put emphasis in good technique and strong knowledge of basics of music theory while encouraging creativity and self-expression.
