About Lauren

I am a guitar tutor with 12 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance and Contemporary Styles. My love for guitar began with its ability to tell stories through rhythm, melody, and emotion. Teaching guitar allows me to guide students toward both technical growth and creative freedom.

My teaching approach is supportive, structured, and inspiring. I help learners strengthen chord fluency, rhythm accuracy, finger technique, expressive soloing, and performance confidence. Many students begin feeling unsure about coordination, and I take pride in helping them progress through step-by-step encouragement. I believe guitar should feel exciting and empowering, not stressful.

Outside of teaching, I stay active through composing, performing, and exploring diverse musical genres. Watching students grow into confident guitarists is deeply fulfilling. My goal is to help you play with freedom, joy, and pride, creating a musical journey that truly inspires you.

About the lesson

My guitar lessons are designed to help students enjoy music while building strong technical and creative foundations. Guitar is an instrument that offers freedom, expression, and the ability to play both rhythm and melody. Many learners struggle in the beginning with chord transitions, timing, or finger coordination, so I provide calm and encouraging support. Each lesson is structured to help students grow steadily while feeling inspired by their progress.

In our sessions, we focus on chord mastery, strumming consistency, fingerstyle development, solo phrasing, and musical understanding. Beginners learn essential open chords, rhythm patterns, and simple songs that build confidence quickly. Intermediate learners expand into barre chords, melodic picking, smoother transitions, and genre exploration across pop, rock, blues, and acoustic music. Advanced students refine improvisation, tone shaping, songwriting skills, performance preparation, and deeper music theory. I offer clear feedback so improvement feels consistent.

Guitar learning builds patience, creativity, and emotional expression. My goal is to help students feel proud of their sound and confident in their musical identity. Over time, learners develop independence and joy through playing. Each lesson becomes a meaningful step toward expressive guitar mastery.
