Since I only work with beginners, the first thing I want to do is to get straight into the music after a brief explanation of the most important basics (structure of the guitar). It all starts with chords and rhythm and the coordination of both hands. After having mastered most of the open chords, we then turn to the so-called barre fingerings. At this point I let my first music theory flow in and we broaden our horizons to read the first notes. So the first scales follow until we finally get into the blues and improvisation and make use of the CAGED system.
