About Kyra
I am a guitar mentor with 7 years of teaching experience and a B.A. in Music Performance. My training emphasized both technical discipline and expressive freedom, shaping a teaching style that values balance and individuality. I have guided learners from early stages to confident, expressive playing. My teaching philosophy focuses on clarity, encouragement, and adaptability. I believe students progress best when they understand the purpose behind techniques. Lessons are tailored to individual goals and musical interests, creating a supportive learning environment. Outside teaching, I continue exploring music through practice, composition, and performance study. Teaching guitar is fulfilling because I witness students develop confidence and creativity. Guitar lessons are most effective when learners feel supported both technically and creatively. My lessons focus on posture, hand coordination, rhythm control, chord fluency, fretboard understanding, and expressive tone development. Beginners learn foundational chords, strumming patterns, timing awareness, and simple melodies that build confidence. Intermediate learners refine fingerstyle technique, lead phrasing, scale navigation, and dynamic control.
Lessons are personalized to each learner’s pace and interests. Technical drills are connected directly to musical pieces to maintain motivation. Play-along exercises, guided practice, and creative exploration are integrated regularly. Feedback emphasizes clarity, musicality, and consistent improvement.
Advanced learners explore improvisation, stylistic depth, tone shaping, and performance readiness. Each lesson balances structure and freedom.
