About Iona
I am a guitar tutor with 6 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Guitar Studies. Throughout my teaching journey, I have worked with beginners, hobbyists, and developing musicians who want to improve their skills and enjoyment of music. Watching students grow in confidence is something I truly value.
My teaching philosophy centers on patience, encouragement, and practical learning. I believe music education should be engaging and tailored to each student’s goals. By creating a supportive atmosphere, I help learners feel comfortable while developing technique and musical understanding.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy performing, arranging music, and exploring different guitar styles. These experiences allow me to bring variety and inspiration into lessons. I look forward to helping students achieve their musical goals and enjoy every stage of their learning journey.

My guitar lessons are designed to help students build strong foundations while enjoying the process of making music. We cover chord progressions, rhythm patterns, fingerstyle techniques, lead guitar skills, ear training, and musical interpretation through practical and engaging activities. Every lesson is structured to encourage confidence and steady improvement.
I adapt lessons to individual goals and interests. Some students focus on accompaniment and song learning, while others explore improvisation, music theory, and technical development. Through demonstrations, guided practice, and constructive feedback, learners gain the skills needed to become more independent musicians.
I enjoy helping students overcome challenges and discover their strengths as guitar players. Lessons are supportive, organized, and designed to keep learners motivated throughout their progress. My aim is to help students enjoy music while building lasting skills and confidence.
