About Aliya
I’m 21 years old and half Japanese, half New Zealander. I grew up mostly in Japan, and this year I moved to New Zealand on my own for university. I’m currently studying Global Studies. My hobby is traveling, and I love exploring the world! I’ve always enjoyed connecting with people, and through this online class, I hope to meet many different people and, through language learning, share the joy of stepping into a new world.

I’ll focus less on textbook learning and more on everyday conversation, making it a fun and relaxed learning time so you can speak easily and comfortably with people locally. Also, since I’ve lived in Japan my whole life prior to this year, I’d love to talk a lot about interesting cultural differences, and I’d be happy if it could also help you improve your understanding of cultural differences.
