About Aurora

For the last three years I have been the lead EMT instructor at U.S. Colleges San Diego. I construct my daily lectures to consist of basic cell biology, human anatomy, and pathology. I make my lectures fun and interesting by using different media to reinforce learning that reaches all the different learning patterns. Everyone learns differently, so when teaching a classroom full of different learners, it is important that lessons are taught in a way that everyone's learning style is met. I develop great relationships with my students and have written countless letters of recommendation for students applying to medical schools. I work hard for my students so that they can be successful. It brings me great joy when students follow up with me later on to tell me the successes of their educational journey.

About the lesson

I have been studying biology all of my adult life and I have such a passion for it. As someone who has endured countless hours of "put me to sleep lectures," I have had to reteach myself lessons I snoozed through. I work hard to create lesson plans that make learning fun, engaging, relatable and memorable for test day! I have worked in medicine for years in the ER and I love sharing stories from my experiences that help biology make SENSE. I memorized everything from my textbooks in my undergraduate but when I set foot in the ER and I saw how medicine is practiced, it all clicked and made real sense. I want biology to click for my students before they set foot in their desired field.
