About Matthew
Just starting out and even more advanced players find themselves getting frustrated at some point in their journey as a guitarist, but nothing is impossible with a little encouragement. I too have felt like giving up even after several years of playing, but always had someone to help me get out of that rut and push on. I want to be that person for you!! I also understand through experience that not every student is the same. I focus on developing that one-on-one personal study that is right for you at your pace of comfort. If there's one thing I have learned over the years, especially as a professional player, it is patience! I never want my students to feel pressured or rushed. My methods allow you to learn the guitar the correct way, but also to develop your own unique style the way your heart tells you to play. To me, the more you can freely express yourself through your music, the easier it is for you to grow.

I never took lessons from just one instructor. I began playing when I was 9 years old, and was exposed to many seasoned players through family and friends of family. In my 30 year journey of playing, I learned many different tricks and techniques from many players that helped me advance my skills. I have helped many players get to that next level by sharing the practice techniques I have put together over the years. It doesn't matter if you are advanced or at a beginner level, I have tricks that will help all skill levels.
