About Heather

I have played since I was 5 years old. I have studied a Diploma of Music, a cert IV in Teaching & Assessment. I have worked as a teachers aid and I am a currently studying to teach
Primary School Education, majoring in Music & Special Needs. I have completed up to grade IV in Classical Piano and have completed grate 6 theory. I have played in a band, composed several songs using midi technology. I have been in chiours since childhood and have conducted and ran church music programs. I believe in fostering a growth mindset in students, helping them to critique themselves before providing constructive feedback. I have experience teaching students between the ages of 6-12 the piano up to grade 2. You know your a good teacher when your students don't want to go home : )

About the lesson

Just relocated to Underwood, Brisbane and am looking for students who are beginning play the piano/keyboard while I finish my grades. My goal is to help students develop the knowledge and skills to be able to play music they love, to improvise, transpose, complete grades if they wish. I also will encourage students to perform wheather it be at a tallent night, church, at a local nursing home or at a free piano in a shopping centre or on the street. I hope to inspire my students with enjoyable, taylored lessons.
