About Linssey

I am a very flexible teacher who understands the students' work-life, school, and extracurricular schedules and tries to carve out a flexible way to practice and meet their goals on their instrument.
I am a witty and down-to-earth teacher who loves to watch students progress, no matter how slow or fast they learn, so that they understand the material. I love talking through it so they wouldn't feel confused or impossible to understand.
I am a relatable, motivational teacher. If I see my student finding things difficult to work on a challenge, I make sure that they can take time to work on them in small steps. I share my stories with my students about how I have overcome some challenges as a musician so they know that they're not alone in feeling defeated or overwhelmed.

About the lesson

I am a certified voice teacher who focuses on the Kodaly and Feiererbend methods to help students learn to sing and read music.
I combine the Suzuki and Essential Elements methods to help string students learn to read and understand music while learning the fundamentals of playing a string instrument.
I use the Faber method books to help students understand small steps to play the piano and practice coordination.
I mentor students to use the five methods for learning how to practice a piece in smaller chunks, so they won't feel overwhelmed learning a piece in full and will feel empowered to be flexible in practicing between their busy schedules.
Lessons are for those who are upper elementary to high school students and college to professional students.
