About Samantha
Shifting positions and perfecting STACCATO BOWING require a keen ear and steady hand. I imagine the rosin dust rising as we find the sweet spot on the strings. My 6 years of experience inform how I work with returning learners and teens who want to improve. I have taught over 300 students how to balance sight reading with organic tone production.
Many intermediate learners find that intonation improves once they grasp the mechanics of orchestral playing. I spent 12 years traveling through the American South to refine my own practice. Teaching violin allows me to share the deep history of these old tunes.
It is truly rewarding to see a student connect with a piece of music. I enjoy watching the lightbulb turn on during a challenging passage. That clarity is why I keep teaching.

Does your bowing arm feel stiff when you attempt a rapid passage? I focus on fluid mechanics to ensure your tone production remains consistent and clear. We apply my 6 years of experience to solve stubborn intonation issues immediately.
You will receive weekly practice modules assigned with every class to guide your home study. These modules track your progress through shifting and advanced bowing styles.
