About Donny

Hi, I’m Donny. My love for music started early, and at the age of six, I began a personal journey with the piano. After continuing lessons through high school, I eventually went on to earn a degree in music composition with an emphasis in piano, graduating magna cum laude. When I was a teenager, I began to teach piano as well, and since then have taught thousands of lessons for a wide variety of personalities, ages, and experience levels giving me over 9 years of teaching experience. When I'm not teaching or practicing the piano, you can find me playing basketball with friends, learning Chinese, or looking for another sci-fi movie to watch. I look forward to connecting and exploring how we can work together to unlock your musical potential. Whether you’re a beginner looking for a solid foundation or an experienced player aiming to refine your skills, I’m here to guide you on your musical journey.

About the lesson

Piano is an amazing instrument, and there are many ways to play it. Whether you want to learn to play in a classical style, a more improvisational style, or both, I'd love to hear your goals and let you know how we can work toward them. The process is usually this: 1) Schedule a free trial lesson where we can discuss any previous experiences if any, goals, and what you hope to get out of lessons. This is a chance for me to not only hear the "why" for piano lessons, but see where you're at regarding your knowledge of music, and so we can plan the best route to get you where you want to be. 2) At the end of this lesson, I will let you know the roadmap for how we can move forward and what path/books/materials we will use.

Donny taught both of my daughters when we still lived in town. We enjoyed the lessons so much we didn’t want to switch teachers after moving and now have online lessons. The quality of the lessons hasn’t decreased at all. He makes use of some great tools for online teaching and our progress hasn’t slowed a bit. I can’t recommend his lessons enough
