About Emma
Having worked in the UK education system for just under 18 years, I have developed good professional relationships with colleagues at the major exam boards - this has allowed me to really get to grips with what exam boards are looking for and means that I can tailor lessons accordingly for maximum student success. As head of a large English department, I have created useful banks of resources that all of my students benefit from - whether they are aiming for a grade 5 or a grade 9. I feel strongly that all students should have access to outstanding education - and this starts with excellent teaching and resources. My results have consistently been in the top 1% of the UK for progress and I am constantly reflecting on and improving my teaching practice to ensure that this remains so.

My lessons are structured to engage and enthuse students - and are all planned with individual students in mind. Each session is interactive and students will receive consistent and useful feedback on their academic practice in order to develop. I have over 16 years of teaching experience and this has enabled me to develop excellent pedagogical knowledge of how students learn. I have both Undergraduate and Masters degrees in English Literature - both of which have been crucial in developing my knowledge of Literature and in keeping abreast of any changes in education that students must be aware of in order to succeed academically.
