About Oliver
Oliver is a PhD candidate in neuropsycholinguistics and consultant to private clients. His advisory clients include the House of Lords, the NHS, People Primetime International, the Manchester Metropolitan University, Falmouth University, the Emotional Intelligence Academy, the YMCA, the Y Club, the Castelfield Hotel, the National Citizenship Service, Equal Education, etc. His mentoring clients range pre-academic, academic, and professional contexts. His PhD research examines the composite language and communication phenomena of schizophrenia, as relative to figurative language processing, using experimental psycholinguistic methods; his master's dissertation focused on paralinguistics: blended displays (i.e. complex facial expressions) of emotion; and his bachelor's took the form of a stylistics combined honours (i.e. linguistics with creative writing). His vocational experience includes a substantive clinical education post within NHS psychiatric services—specifically, as an interpersonal communications tutor; in parallel, he's provided consultancy services since 2011.
