About Fiona
As a passionate Health Sciences (Honours) student at McMaster University, I have a strong background in STEM and writing. I’m excited to bring my love for learning to more students, helping them build a strong foundation in maths, sciences and English. I focus on creating a supportive and engaging environment tailored to each student’s needs! With over 5 years of teaching experience, I’ve developed a strong ability to break down complex ideas into manageable parts. I incorporate a variety of tools in my teaching, including visuals, games, and real-world examples, to make challenging concepts easier to understand. A typical lesson starts with answering questions and revisiting challenging topics from the previous lesson, followed by a customized lesson plan aligning with the student’s goals, and practice problems to reinforce their learning. My lessons are ideal for elementary to high school students looking to boost their confidence and performance in English, math, chemistry, or biology!
