About Stephanie

Hello! My name is Stephanie Russo, and I am a licensed elementary school teacher holding a Master’s in the Art of Teaching. As an educator, it is my priority to build a safe, encouraging environment where every student feels confident and supported from day one.

I understand that all students have a unique way of learning. This is why I look at the student right in front of me and their daily work to pinpoint exactly how I can best support them. I strive to bridge learning gaps with concrete, real-world examples by designing hands-on activities that will help make difficult concepts accessible to all students.

Working one-on-one allows me to fully customize my lessons to how each student learns best. Our structured sessions are always designed with intention: activating prior knowledge, modeling skills through explicit mini-lessons, engaging in guided practice, and concluding with independent application. I continuously use their progress to shape our next steps, ensuring our time together is effective.

About the lesson

As an educator, I recognize that each student has a unique way of learning. In my classroom, I use the students in front of me and the work they produce as data points to pinpoint exactly where I can best support them. This helps me create hands-on activities that bridge learning gaps while providing concrete examples. I love working one-on-one with students because it allows me to fully tailor my lessons to how they learn best. I am currently offering tutoring lessons in math and English for students in grades K-5.

A typical lesson with me starts with a warm-up to activate prior knowledge. Next, I model the focus skill through a targeted, explicit mini-lesson. After that, I guide the student through hands-on practice to build their confidence. To conclude the session, the student completes a brief independent practice. I then use the work from this final step as a new data point to determine the success of our session and directly guide our next lesson
