Hello! I'm Emily and I'm a Professional Soprano and Singing Teacher. I hold a Master's degree from the Royal College of Music and teach all levels!

About Emily
I am a professional soprano with degrees from both the Royal College of Music (Masters - Distinction) and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (BMus - 1:1). As an Opera Singer I have worked for leading companies such as Welsh National Opera, Opera North, English National Opera and the Glyndebourne Festival. As a vocal teacher, I have had success with taking students through both the ABRSM and Trinity Laban exam syllabuses, as well as supporting those who wish to enter talent competitions (local or national). I pride myself on not only being a singing teacher, but also a performance coach - helping each student truly find their authentic voice.

I have been teaching as a private singing tutor for the past 8 years, with both beginners and intermediate learners. I have tutored students through graded examinations, both ABRSM and Trinity Laban syllabuses, as well as students who wish to sing simply for fun! Teaching style: I believe in teaching in an active and diverse way. I believe any child or adult has musical potential, they simply need the right support and nurturing. As a classically trained soprano, I believe in the importance of body work, breathing exercises and vocal technique in order to achieve the greatest result. I tailor my lessons to the pupil's specific needs, incorporating techniques such as; multi-sensory learning, Alexander Technique, Kodály and breathing and stretching exercises in order to assist the student's vocal development. I believe singing should be freeing and fun, and therefore my techniques encompass this. I offer 30/45/60min lessons depending on the age and stage of the pupil.
