About Carlotta
My name is Carlotta and I have tutored several students both during my undergraduate years in Italy and during my Erasmus year in the UK and Master's year in the Netherlands. I obtained the TOEFL C2 certification for English, attended the University of Kent - Humanities in Canterbury for one year and graduated with 110 cum laude in Performing Arts and Sciences from the Sapienza University of Rome. I later concluded my studies by obtaining a degree in English MA (Master of Arts) in Film and Contemporary Audiovisual Media from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. To complete my studies I did a 5-month internship in Paris and a 4-month internship in New York. My interests, as evidenced by my studies, are directed to the whole sphere of the artistic world: painting, music, fiction, theater and film

I have about two years' teaching experience having tutored both foreign students who wished to learn Italian (teenagers and adults) and Italian students who needed lessons in English. My first lesson is always dedicated to a careful analysis of the student's specific requests in order to plan the most appropriate course for the student's needs. My methodology is mainly based on the development of EU key competencies and 21st-century Life Skills, presenting engaging content on aspects of the current world that at the same time contextualizes grammar in objective. I teach strategies to be used in reading and writing, use types of exercises and texts that allow the student to have clear patterns of the rules studied, highlight expressions to be used to communicate orally, improve both fluency and accuracy and also provide opportunities for independent learning.
At the same time my watchwords are availability and flexibility so that each of my courses is truly tailor-made for each individual student and I am always ready to focus my lessons on specific skills (listening, writing, reading, speaking, grammar, pronunciation), exam preparation for certifications, support in recovering critical schooling issues.
