About Kevin
Hello! As your math tutor, I bring a wealth of experience working with a diverse range of students, from ages 12 to 30, across courses like Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus, and Statistics. My biggest focus is you—understanding your individual goals and creating manageable, effective pathways to achieve them. I recognize that everyone starts at a different level, and I am here to meet you precisely where you are and guide your growth. My professional track record includes helping students achieve remarkable results, whether it’s raising grades from an F to a confident A or significantly boosting standardized test scores. We will work together to ensure your mathematical foundations are rock-solid, so we can focus on you ending your semester or year strong, not just surviving the next assignment. You can trust that our sessions will be professional, personalized, and entirely dedicated to your long-term success.

My tutoring philosophy is built upon the core belief that understanding the "why" behind mathematical actions is the key to deep, long-term learning and eliminating confusion. Initially, I focus on diagnosing a student's conceptual understanding, identifying specific knowledge gaps before attempting problem-solving. If a student is struggling, I break down the concept into its fundamental parts, ensuring a strong foundation so they grasp all aspects of the idea before applying it. Once the concept is clear, we transition to active practice, working through multiple problems to solidify their ability to correctly and consistently apply that understanding, rather than just solving a singular example. This methodical approach ensures they understand why a particular concept or equation is used, enabling them to confidently transfer this knowledge to unfamiliar problems throughout the entire semester, prioritizing long-term memory over short-term memorization. I offer these services to students of any age enrolled in courses such as Algebra, Pre-Algebra, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus, and Statistics.

Kevin is great at breaking down complex topics into simple bite-sized chunks and explaining them in a way that makes them super easy to understand. He adapts to my unique learning style and always ensures that I truly understand the content. He’s very well organized and shows up to sessions on time.
Was super nervous to work with a tutor, but he was very understanding and worked with me at my pace. I never felt rushed or dumb. I ended up passing a class I was very close to failing! His explanations are very clear and easy to understand I highly recommend!!
