As a math teacher, I use a combination of traditional and modern techniques to make mathematics engaging, understandable, and applicable to real life. My methods include:
Conceptual Understanding First: I prioritize deep comprehension over memorization, using visual aids, analogies, and step-by-step breakdowns to help students grasp core concepts.
Warm-up Activity (5-10 minutes)
A quick review or math puzzle to activate prior knowledge.
Lesson Introduction (10-15 minutes)
Briefly introduce the topic and outline objectives with relatable examples.
Core Instruction (20-25 minutes)
Concept explanation with demonstrations, guided practice, and class interaction.
Practice Time (15-20 minutes)
Students work independently or in pairs on exercises, while I offer support as needed.
Review and Recap (5-10 minutes)
We summarize key takeaways, address any remaining questions, and sometimes assign short reflective tasks or homework.
Adult Learners: Whether for test preparation (WBP Police, Kolkata Police, Railway Group D, NTPC etc.), career advancement, or personal development, my classes are accessible and effective for adult learners as well.
