About Yas
I was born and raised in Iran, where I began teaching by helping children learn English. I studied Psychology at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran and am currently studying Philosophy and Linguistics in London.
I started teaching Farsi to students at my university, helping them improve their speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension skills. Since then, I have been teaching Persian to both adults and children, working with learners at a variety of levels, from complete beginners to more advanced students.
As a native Farsi speaker, I tailor each lesson to my students' goals, interests, and learning styles. Whether you are learning Persian for travel, work, academic study, connecting with family, or personal interest, I would be happy to help.

Lessons are tailored to your goals and level, whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced learner. We can focus on conversation, grammar, reading, writing, pronunciation, or exam preparation. My teaching style is patient, structured, and interactive, with an emphasis on building confidence and practical communication skills. For students with a particular interest in Persian culture, lessons can also include Persian poetry, history, philosophy, and classical literature. We can explore works by thinkers and writers such as Hafez, Saadi, Rumi, Avicenna, and Mulla Sadra while developing language skills and gaining a deeper understanding of Persian intellectual and cultural traditions.

My standard rate is £25 per hour. For students who are planning to learn over a longer period, I also offer a discounted package of 5 lessons for £120, which I generally recommend as it provides better value and allows us to build consistent progress over time.
