About Mitch

My name's Mitch (Henry West), I am a professional musician based in the northern rivers. I live and breathe everything music! Especially jazz, funk and soul. I gig at wineries, restaurants and art exhibitions and when I'm not playing, I produce, mix and master music for myself and other local professionals. I've known for a very long time that music is a powerful creation and an inherent talent we all have. All it needs is the right teacher to awaken you! I was a lucky one and am a third generation musician, learning from my Dad and Pop since I was old enough to hold a guitar. But I know not everyone has this opportunity, so I'm excited to be able to pay it forward and offer this gift to the world. I love a good party and there's nothing better than being able to play a few tunes in front of friends through to transforming the vibe of an entire room. If I sound like your jam, let's jam and I'm looking forward to meeting you!

About the lesson

My approach to teaching is catered to you specifically. The MOST important thing is that you enjoy your journey with music and are excited to come to lessons. There is value in all aspects of music and your interest will spark curiosity. There are some fundamentals however one must know before getting into the fun stuff: - how to correctly hold and/or sit at your instrument - What a note is - What a chord is - What the notes are on your instrument - how to read tabs/sheet music If you are resistant to learning about any of these no need to fear. You can still play music! These are just highly suggested skills that will help you learn faster and allow you to have some basic knowledge of playing music.
