About Talon

Hey everyone! I'm Talon, a year 11 student at Melbourne High School (one of Victoria's top selective entry schools, ranked #2). I'm a firm believer that ANYONE can do well, as long as they have the right help - and I'd love to be that helping hand for you! I'm calm, easy to talk to, and great at breaking things down step-by-step.

Qualifications:
- Previous student in the Gifted Academic Potential Program at Box Hill High School
- Student at MHS (4x superiors, A to A+ grades)
- 10+ distinction awards (top 10% state/national)
Experience:
- Gotten a student into Box Hill High's accelerated learning program
- 1+ year tutoring my sister in English and math
- 7+ students being taught across multiple years
- Helped countless classmates go from C's to A's
- 3+ executive leadership positions in school

As someone actively navigating the school system myself, I get it - I've been through the same tests, stress, and pressure as you. With this comes a fresh perspective - I know how to study and work smart, not hard.

About the lesson

My tutoring style is supportive, patient, and flexible — I adjust my lessons based on how you learn best. I use many proven techniques, like active recall and spaced retention, to create learning that lasts.
Whether it's selective school entry exams, scholarships, test preparations, or just a helping hand in class, I'm always willing to deliver.

Lessons can be any length depending on your needs - online or in-person across Melbourne.

My lessons are for students in primary to Year 9 looking for support or extension in:
English (writing, grammar, comprehension)
Maths (algebra, geometry, problem solving)
Science (physics, chemistry, biology basics)
Extras (exam and test prep, leadership help, NAPLAN, general questions)
