About Julie
As a teacher in the Ontario public education system for over 17 years, I have a deep knowledge of the Ontario curriculum (Gr 9-12) as well as a strong understanding of best practices for literacy, reading and writing development (particularly at the high school level). I have experience in differentiating instruction to meet individual needs and an ability to help students identify and build on their own strengths as readers and writers.

Support with technical and essay writing skills. Lessons can also be tailored to develop reading strategies and build literary analysis skills. Using either teacher or student-selected reading material, I can build a lesson that explores how an author uses grammar and punctuation pieces to develop ideas and tone of a text, helping students see what real writers do with punctuation and sentences to convey meaning. Then, we can take the same text and develop reading strategies and skills that work for the individual student, building comprehension and analysis skills.
