About Amarie

I am a hard-working Gr. 11 student with an overall average in the 90s. I go to RH King Academy and actively support the school community as a member of student council.

I have worked alongside middle school students with visual impairments and special learning needs. Helping them with math, english, and music, I learned how to introduce new ideas slowly.

Additionally, I've volunteered in Toronto's summer camps (CampTO) and gained experience in accommodating the needs of children, helping them learn how to play safely. Overall I am confident in my ability to support young kids with patience and understanding. As a high school student myself I believe having a strong understanding of math basics early on, is the key to success in high school. That is why I continue to grow my own knowledge in math and strive to share it with others.

About the lesson

Introducing a new math concept (ex. Pythagorean theorem) through visual diagrams and step explanation. By deduction and reasoning the student will learn to prove why and how certain rules in math work. Practice sheets are then used for the student to further apply the new content learnt. Aiming to support children in elementary and middle school.
