About Gabriela

As a high school student and native Brazilian Portuguese speaker, I am excited to share my passion for the language and culture with students of all levels. I speak English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French, my journey of learning languages inspired me to teach, as I believe that communication is an amazing way to connect people and cultures, and I want to help my students explore this world through Portuguese. My teaching approach is visual, interactive, and personalized focusing on developing practical skills in speaking, reading, and writing while creating a welcoming and fun learning environment to students of all levels!

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is centered around creating an engaging and supportive atmosphere where students feel encouraged to learn and practice their Portuguese skills. A typical lesson will start with a warm-up activity reviewing previously learned material, helping to reinforce their understanding. I then introduce new vocabulary or grammar concepts through interactive exercises, such as games, stories, or other interactive exercises to make my students' learning experiences enjoyable. Throughout the lesson, I prioritize interactive practice allowing students to participate in conversations, read, and write short passages to apply what they've learned. I always make sure to provide constructive feedback and support to build their confidence in the topic and language skills. Each lesson concludes with a summary of the key points covered and if needed, a homework assignment that reinforces the day's learning. It's important for students to know that my goal is to create a positive learning environment where they can grow at their own pace while developing a love for the Portuguese language!
