About Alessia
Hi! My name is Alessia. I am a high school student who has been enrolled in enriched language classes since my early elementary years. I have two years of experience tutoring 6th grade students in English. I am strong in developing the confidence of my tutored-students while also combating their weaknesses in the language. I believe in strengthening academic qualities while providing a safe space for everyone. I am easy to talk to and students tend to become comfortable with me very quickly. I am eager to expand my tutoring experience and assist in the education of English speakers everywhere.

My teaching methods stem from Waldorf education. I am a firm believer that every student is so much more than their academic abilities, and I promise to provide my students with a safe learning environment where they can feel comfortable being completely open and honest with me about how they work. My ultimate goal is not to "fix" any issues a student may have in an academic sense, but rather to strengthen their abilities and making sure that their well-being always comes first. I am always willing to make accommodations to any student who may feel they are in need of an alternative learning environment. I work day and night to make a difference and abolish the ableism that sadly comes with modern education. A typical class of mine is one-on-one as I work best in a personal setting where my student has my full and undivided attention. I am most comfortable tutoring elementary students, but I may be able to make exceptions for students in their junior high school years.

Webcam lessons with students in a grade 2-6 English level are a firm $14.00/hr. Please contact me for inquiries if you are speaking English at a higher level. Any cancellations made within 24 hours of your lesson will be eligible for a refund of 50%.
