About Nellie

Students and parents can feel confident knowing they are learning with a highly qualified, internationally trained educator and professional performer with over 30 years of teaching experience and a long record of student success. My teaching combines advanced musical training with formal psychological expertise, allowing me to support each learner’s musical, cognitive, and emotional development with clarity and depth.
Over the years, I have guided more than 200 students through Trinity College London and ABRSM graded piano and theory exams, with consistently strong results. Many of my students have continued their musical journey at prestigious institutions worldwide, including: Berklee College of Music, USA, Manhattan School of Music, New York, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, USA, National Music Academy, Sofia, and other respected conservatories and university programs
These outcomes reflect a teaching approach that is structured, developmental, and student-centered, ensuring that each learner receives the guidance they need to grow with confidence and independence.
I hold a Fellowship from Trinity College London (FTCL), a Master of Music from the National Music Academy in Sofia, and an MSc in Psychology from Northumbria University, UK. This unique combination of disciplines allows me to teach with insight, precision, and a deep understanding of how students learn.

About the lesson

My teaching is grounded in a simultaneous learning method and a child or student led, developmentally aligned approach. This means I meet each learner exactly where they are, building musical understanding through exploration, creativity, and integrated skill development rather than isolated drills. Lessons unfold organically, following the student’s curiosity while ensuring strong foundations in technique, musicianship, and expressive confidence.
I work holistically, drawing on my background in music education, psychology, and neuro development to support each student’s cognitive, emotional, and artistic growth. Whether a young beginner or an advanced diploma candidate, the learning experience is tailored, structured, and deeply supportive.
Lesson length depends on age, attention span, and level:
• 45 minutes – young beginners or early-stage learners
• 60 minutes – intermediate students building technique and repertoire and advanced, diploma level, audition preparation, or adult learners
Each session blends technique, repertoire, creativity, theory, and musical understanding in a way that feels natural and engaging.
I bring over 30 years of teaching experience across schools, studios, and international settings. My formal qualifications include:
