About Paxton

Hi, I’m Paxton! I’m currently a Theology and Ministry major, and I absolutely love discussing history, theology, mythology, and philosophy. I frequently have opportunities to break down difficult concepts, and I genuinely enjoy the conversations and critical thinking that follow. My goal is to make lessons engaging, discussion-driven, and memorable by connecting ideas to stories, culture, and modern life.

I believe learning works best when students are genuinely interested and involved, so I strive to create an encouraging environment where curiosity and questions are always welcome. Personally, I retain information best when I’m enjoying the process, and I try to bring that same energy into my teaching style!

About the lesson

While all four subjects fall under the history umbrella, each requires its own methodology for study:

- History: Focused on reinforcing key events, understanding historical context, and connecting the past to the modern world.
- Christian Theology: Combines biblical study, church history, and explanations of complex theological concepts with an emphasis on understanding and discussion.
- Mythology: Explores cultural backgrounds, systems of belief, important figures, and the stories that shaped ancient civilizations.
- Philosophy: Focused on major philosophers, core arguments, logical reasoning, and the ability to think critically and articulate ideas clearly.

What sets me apart is both my experience with these subjects and my teaching style. I enjoy taking broad or difficult concepts and breaking them down into something understandable and engaging for students. I also like to present historical events as living stories, like a compelling movie or TV series rather than a dry list of dates and facts.

The lessons are curated for those in relevant middle and high school students.
