About Ollie
Hi, I’m Ollie. I’ve always been fascinated by history, dedicating my dissertation to the Cold War. I worked with Hungarian texts to dig into the past in its own words. Alongside my studies, I’ve developed a real passion for writing, from student journalism to my professional life in political communications. During this, I enjoy helping others unlock the power of clear, confident expression. I believe history is especially vital in today’s turbulent times: it gives us perspective, sharpens our judgement, and prepares this generation to be thoughtful leaders of the future. I tutor to help students succeed in exams, but also develop an understanding of why their subject matters. I know exams can be stressful; I’ve been through them myself, and I’ve found that students learn best when lessons are friendly, structured, and tailored to their style. My aim is always to build confidence as well as knowledge, so that each student finishes a session feeling capable, motivated, and ready to achieve their goals.

Cover essay technique, source analysis, and conceptual understanding. Offer a hands-on approach, with plenty of chances to demonstrate progress. I break down the complex ideas into simple and memorable processes that are easy to replicate in an exam. With essays, no idea is a wrong idea as long as it can be backed up; I encourage students to feel confident with their own ideas. I achieved 4A*s at A level, in History, Politics, EPQ, and English Literature - at which I achieved 98%. During university, I tutored GCSE English Literature with Action Tutoring, which focused on students on the pupil premium and specialist needs. My lessons are for students about to take either GCSE or A-Level exams, who are at any level but wish to hone their exam technique and review difficult topics.
