About Harry

Throughout my studies, I always preferred a smaller classroom size. The importance of building a strong relationship with those teaching is a fundamental factor in achieving better results. For me, studying history has opened so many opportunities in both a professional and personal setting. Through your studies you can learn about different cultures and societies. These teachings may inspire you to undertake trips to certain parts of the world in order to visit significant landmarks you have studied, or annoy friends and families with obscure facts you have picked up along the way. While history is a passion for myself, I understand this is not the case for everyone, this is why my lessons are catered for the individual, so they can access their full potential. I have worked with students wanting to achieve the top grades as well as students who have simply wanted to achieve a passing grade in order to pursue their own separate interests. As I have gone further into the academic world, the subject of history remains a very well respected academic field. Regardless of the level you want to pursue with history, both universities and recruiters understand the significant skillset studying history provides.

About the lesson

My lessons are catered to the individual student. I offer the opportunity for a meet and greet session before any agreement to pursue a course of tutoring. These sessions aim to establish the aims of the student as well as identifying how they prefer to learn away from a mainstream classroom. For all GCSE and A-Level Students, they will receive the following a week before their next scheduled lesson - A detailed lesson plan so they can read the relevant literature beforehand. - A set of revision notes they can use for their own independent research. -Potential essay questions that have/can be used during their examinations, so they have the opportunity to deal with questions before the real exam! As a student myself, I was graded a 9 in GCSE history, dropping 9 total marks across the three papers. Additionally, I have extensive practice in helping students both plan and write their coursework projects for History A level. I have recently graduated from the University of Nottingham, with a BA in History (2:1). I have tutored friends and family for many years in History and other related disciplines, (e.g. English and Classics).
