About Harriet
I am a History PhD student with a BA (First Class) and MPhil from the University of Cambridge.
I have a genuine enthusiasm for history and believe strongly in its importance. I hope to share this with any student, whilst helping them to achieve their academic or other study goals.

My style and techniques depend on the aims of the learner! For an A Level or undergraduate session, we will start by confirming content and contextual understanding, pushing this further and making links where possible, then apply this knowledge to different exam-style questions. For a casual learner, the sessions will be less linear and more exploratory, where we follow the threads of your interests, look at bigger-picture questions of causality and change, and discuss different approaches to historical thinking.
I can also offer sessions to help you synthesise and frame your ideas into essay format.
I have experience tutoring A Level and essay writing, as well as running seminar-style undergraduate sessions. I have also co-run a history workshop and a history society.
I am happy to offer one-off or more regular sessions, and can be flexible with timings to suit your other commitments.
