About Swagatalakshmi
I am a final year Masters student of Modern History at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). I have completed my Bachelor's in History from Presidency University Kolkata and also a professional Odissi dancer. I also have a background in private tutoring students and enjoy teaching. I believe in making learning easier by breaking down complex theories and debates into simple ones highlighted by examples to help my students in comprehending the main theme and its underlying arguments, paving the way for an interest and better grasp in the subject/topic.

I base my class on the general receptivity of a student and then proceed with the explanation of a particular topic. I usually approach the topic with a structured format of classification that helps students to discern the different trends and strands of a particular subject. I encourage students in asking questions about the subject as it helps them to sharpen their comprehension of the same. I also make use of charts, maps, graphs, paintings and other audio-visual methods to create interest and help them understand that education is not just limited to text books alone.
