About MATTHEW

Having worked in Music Instrument Retail, I frequently assisted customers with setting up their Digital Audio Workstations in order to fit their workflow and allow them to begin making music for themselves or others as soon as possible.

I understand firsthand the frustration caused when you have a great musical idea that either isn't translating as well as you heard it in your head or is being prevented from being captured due to software/setup capabilities.

I look forward to working with you in order to improve your ability to capture and process ideas in order to turn them into completed works of Audio Art!

About the lesson

This is a class for beginner/intermediate home and studio audio engineers of all ages, backgrounds and genres who wish to diversify their knowledge of recording/production techniques while removing creative roadblocks in order to more efficiently produce music.

Students will be required to have a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) in order to receive instruction.

Coming from a management and production background, the goal of my classes will be for a student to be able to independently Define the areas which need most improvement in projects, Measure and quantify the inconsistencies, Analyze which troubleshooting tools will be the most effective, Improve the overall quality and Control for consistency to deliver better results for projects in a shorter time.

Concepts will be illustrated via screen sharing and/or webcam while using a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) with a typical lesson consisting of the explanation of a fundamental principle and then a hands on demonstration where the student will be guided to understanding of the topic at hand.

Audio Tracks utilized for instruction will include multitrack files from Cambridge University's 'Mixing Secrets' Free Multitrack Download Library.
