About Louisa

I am a qualified primary school teacher with experience in both UK and international education. I am passionate about creating a positive, supportive learning environment where every child feels confident to ask questions, take risks and achieve their potential. I understand that every child learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to suit their individual learning style, interests and pace. Whether a pupil needs help building confidence, consolidating key concepts or extending their learning, I adapt my teaching to ensure lessons are engaging, challenging and enjoyable. My aim is not only to improve academic progress but also to help children develop a genuine love of learning. By building strong relationships and celebrating success, I encourage pupils to become confident, independent learners who look forward to each lesson.

About the lesson

I am a fully qualified and experienced Primary School Teacher. I am a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in our school, as well as currently being Writing Subject Leader and Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Subject Leader.

I have a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) specialising in English, with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). I also have an English Language degree (2:1). I have many years working and volunteering in schools, with experience ranging from Early Years through to Upper KS2. Furthermore, I have an Enhanced DBS Certificate.

I am passionate about teaching and helping young people achieve their potential. I also feel it is important for lessons to be enjoyable. The immense pride I feel when my students have a 'light bulb moment' is incredible, and this is what I will strive for in all of our sessions together. Being a teacher, I understand that all students are unique, and I am always adapting work to meet the needs of pupils of all abilities. This will therefore ensure we gradually build on skills and confidence.

The length of the lessons are typically 1-1.5hrs, depending on what works best for you. If possible, prior to our lesson, please let me know if there are certain topics or homework pieces you would like us to work on - this is so we can begin promptly, and make most efficient use of our time together.

Louisa tutored my daughter following the Covid lockdowns to help brush up her maths and English. Our daughter had lost confidence particularly in maths, and Louisa was extremely patient and took the time to explain in a way that she could understand. She really enjoyed her lessons with Louisa who was always prepared and organised with worksheets at the start of every lesson. There has been a massive improvement in our daughter’s grades as a result of the lessons she has done with Louisa. I would absolutely recommend Louisa to anyone - we are so happy to have found her.
