About Winsley

Hello, there! I am Winsley Yang, currently living in Malaysia, teaching Chinese to non-Chinese speaking students online. Being abroad could be home sick and it just heals me to be able to share my culture and mother tongue to people interested. Seeing your progress in learning makes my efforts meaningful. Just like the old Chinese saying, “Teach people how to fish instead of giving them the fish.” It is my philosophy in teaching that not only you could learn the specifics but also you will get to know the roots beneath so that a deeper appreciation and understanding could be cultivated. Once you are in love with the language and culture, your learning will take place automatically.

About the lesson

Using the Chinese must read novel Journey to the West as learning text in the form of short videos with English subtitles to present students with vivid picture to facilitate the language learning. Each lesson is within 40 minutes to keep focused on key elements from vocabulary to basic sentence structure, then organization of a paragraph to ultimately a well written article.
