About Charlotte

Hi! I’m Charlotte, a passionate science tutor and educator with a love for Biology, teaching, and inspiring young minds. Education has always been a huge part of my life—not only have I spent the past six years as a High School Science Teacher, but even as a student, I was involved in tutoring younger peers, running after-school clubs, and leading outreach projects for schools in my community. Outside of teaching, I love to stay active and enjoy the outdoors—whether it’s running (I completed the London Marathon in 2024!), playing football (or "soccer"!), netball, or spending time at the beach. I also coach football, rugby, and basketball at local primary schools around the Gold Coast in my spare time. When I’m not on the move, you’ll probably find me reading, socializing with friends, or catching up with my five younger siblings, whom I miss very much! Simply put, I love helping students succeed — both academically and personally. Seeing a student go from struggling with a subject to feeling confident, passing an exam, or even achieving an A* is incredibly rewarding for me. I believe that every student has potential, and my goal is to support them in reaching their academic ambitions while also encouraging them to explore future career pathways. With experience teaching in both state schools in England and private international schools in Madrid, I’ve worked with students from all backgrounds and learning styles. I know that one-size-fits-all doesn’t work in education, so I tailor my lessons to suit each student’s unique needs—adapting my techniques, building trust, and ensuring they feel supported every step of the way. About the lesson

I believe that effective tutoring is built on strong, professional relationships with students — helping them not only achieve their academic goals but also build confidence and develop a passion for learning. My approach is tailored to each student’s needs, using a combination of interactive teaching, engaging discussions, and structured exam preparation. I utilize a variety of high-quality resources, both online and offline, to introduce new content in an accessible way to every individual and learning style. To support independent learning, I provide revision materials that students can use between sessions which further aids knowledge recall and application of new content taught. Additionally, I have access to a wide range of exam preparation tools, ensuring that students gain the skills and techniques needed to maximize their grades. Sessions typically last between 60 to 90 minutes, allowing enough time to cover new content in depth and reinforce learning through exam-style questions and active recall strategies. I hold a Bachelor of Science with Honors degree from the prestigious University of Leeds, England, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and Leading in Learning (PGDE) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), earned through the highly regarded Teach First program. With six years of experience as a high school teacher and two years as a Biology tutor at a private international school in Madrid, I have worked with a wide range of students. Throughout my teaching career, I have provided weekly intervention sessions for exam groups (Years 10–13), helping both students aiming for a pass and high achievers striving for A* grades. I offer tutoring in all general sciences (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) for Years 7–11 and specialize in Biology for Years 10–13, supporting students with GCSEs, IGCSEs, A-Levels, and equivalent qualifications. Whether a student needs extra help to build confidence or is aiming for top grades, I adapt my lessons to their unique learning style and goals.
