About Anhquan
I am a Monash student based in Melbourne with an IELTS 8.0 overall score, including 9.0 in both Reading and Listening. I was also exempted from the Vietnamese National High School English exam, which reflects my strong academic background in English.
I have experience teaching IELTS and English to students who want to improve their exam performance and practical language skills. One of my students achieved IELTS 7.5 overall and 8.0 Reading after 3 months of studying with me, and I am currently teaching three other students.
As a tutor, I am patient, honest and exam-focused. I explain things clearly, correct mistakes directly, and help students understand not only what the right answer is, but why their previous approach may have cost them marks.

My tutoring style is based on question-first IELTS coaching. Instead of simply telling students to skim, scan or “find evidence”, I teach them how to understand the question before entering the passage or audio. In the first lesson, I normally complete a Reading task with the student, observe their thinking process, then identify their level, weaknesses and the habits that may be costing them marks.
In Reading, students learn how to use the questions as a map: spotting key words that are unlikely to be paraphrased, connecting headings with later questions, and finding answers in a more organised way. In Listening, I train students to read ahead, predict possible answers and prepare before the audio gives the answer.
My lessons are usually 2 hours long and are suitable for students from beginner to intermediate level, especially IELTS learners aiming for 6.0–7.5.
