About Tanay
Tanay Kamat is a passionate Indian classical flutist from Kolhapur, Maharashtra who has refined his skill under the masterful tutelage of Pt. Rupak Kulkarni, a disciple of Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, a well-known Maihar gharana exponent. Tanay's approach is unique and displays his intense training as well as his love for the bansuri. He has a strong dedication to the customs and methods of this well-known gharana. Tanay's journey in Indian classical music is marked by performances on prestigious stages alongside his guruji, Pt. Rupak Kulkarni, as well as collaborations with various classical and light music artists. His talent and dedication have earned him numerous awards and achievements in competitions at the district, state, national, and international levels. Additionally, Tanay has been selected for the AIR (ALL INDIA RADIO) Yuva Vani program, where he showcased his skills and was interviewed at the state level. He has been selected for the International short film festival as a musician among 9 artists all over the world.

Perfect! I've really enjoyed learning flute with Tanay - he's helped me reconnect with a childhood hobby that I had let gather dust for years. Coming from a different style of flute playing, I appreciated his patience and clear guidance in helping me understand the intricacies and beauty of the bansuri. He's also been flexible in allowing me to learn simpler film songs, which has really helped rebuild my confidence. I'm excited to keep learning and exploring more with his support. Highly recommend!

Details
The flute, like many other instruments, requires a high level of skill and expertise. It can take years of training to master techniques such as breath control, mouth position, finger dexterity, and tone production, making it a highly specialized instrument. Teachers with this level of skill tend to charge more for their time.
