About Nidhi

Having over 14 years of Experience with a demonstrated history of working in the architecture, planning & Design Industry, Skilled in AutoCAD, Interior Architecture, Residential & Corporate Designing. A strong arts and design professional with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Design Management Specialized in Real Estate. My passion for design developed at a very young age as it was an outlet for creativity & self-expression. This passion still continues to grow as I shares it with my clients through my work and design. I seamlessly coordinate various aspects of design and business on a daily basis and has experience creating functional, aesthetic and innovative interior spaces ranging from Residences, Offices, and Commercial Complexes to scalable Design Systems; simultaneously spreading my design knowledge via delivering special lectures at various design schools. My belief - Design is not meant for a person or a stream, it is a compilation of scientific facts, Artistic hand, functional forms and lots & lots of research with new object, product or space. My thought on design -“If you can’t stop thinking about it, don’t stop working for it”

My philosophy of teaching is Active Learning: One of my ultimate objectives in teaching is to facilitate learning by helping students to gain the necessary skills, to become active participants in their own learning. I truly believe that knowledge gained through active participation will help learners grow as an individual. My approach to teaching reflects this philosophy, wherein I have developed & used various techniques that intend to engage students in their own learning prospects. Teaching is the most vital assistance which educates a new generation to function knowledgeably in a society, where rapid technological advances constantly pose new questions and challenges. Students do not come to class as blank slates; I observed that they often bring with them preconceived notions about the field; which may consist of false assumptions, generalizations, and ideologies that manifest into a lack of appreciation and understanding of the subject. As an Instructor, an Interior Designer by profession, and an entrepreneur, it is important for me to acknowledge these notions and provide students with a well-informed view of real insight of industry facts. I believe that education must go beyond simply passing on information. It should involve rigorous training in the methods of developing, analyzing, and communicating new knowledge. I use my professional links to impart practical knowledge and reduce the gap of education and interior industry by organizing student’s industrial visits. I conduct interactive sessions and informal discussions. Providing guidance for market survey & research to understand industry norms. Before I can challenge learners to think differently, it’s essential to first help them to see the relevance of design concepts in their lives. I link these concepts through illustrations which they can grasp based on their own perception of real world. Demonstrations and activities are used to help students “see, feel, and touch” what designing is all about. Once students are engaged and excited about the concepts, they will begin to proactively ask questions, think critically, and search for connections and relevance on their own. The learning process is best when it is collaborative between students and the instructor. It is my expectation that students not only learn from me and from each other, but that I learn from them as well. My role as the instructor is not only a source of knowledge, but also a source of support and an avenue for other resources. Students can expect that I am approachable, available to answer questions, and genuinely invested in their academic success. It is also an amazing feeling when a student in an attempt to articulate a particular thought says to me and acknowledge, “I know that you understand me well, Ma’am.” and the fact is I think I just might. It pleases me to notice that I possess a positive impact upon my students, simply by being who I am.
