I began my education at the age of six at the music school of St. Petersburg in Russia. After graduating in 1995, I spent two years at the Music Academy of Norway pursuing my postgraduate degree. Afterwards I worked as a member of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic orchestra under the direction of Yuri Temirkanov. It hen received diplomas from the Chopin Competition in Gottingen, Germany and the Terny Cosagzande, Italy.

I moved to Canada in 1999. Here I continued teaching piano, giving regular concerts as a soloist, chamber musician, and as accompanist for the Ukrainian choir. For several years I worked as an organist and pianist in the united church. I participated in the Keyboard Festival at the Banff Centre for the Arts and was recorded by CBC on several other occasions.

About the lesson

I am offering the highest quality of lessons for students of any age (6 yrs+) and level. I accommodate all learning styles and am adaptable to any needs requested. Whether you hope to become a concert pianist or just would like to get a basic understanding of piano I am happy to help! Providing instruction over the internet as well as in person.

Applying my educational background from Europe and teaching experience, I will be able to provide productive and interesting lessons. This will help each person acquire a solid base and progress on that. One of my priorities is proper hand position to prevent ailments and make music flow most naturally.

I am offering a wide repertoire of classical, contemporary, and pop music. I help students prepare for the Royal Conservatory of Music exams, and provide comprehensive music theory training. Helping students achieving perfect pitch with ear and sight reading are also parts of my lessons.

I often discuss with parents of children their lesson structure to best accommodate the progress and development. Consistent lessons are key for progress and will reevaluate difficulty of pieces to optimize growth.
