About Marianna

I am an award-winning pianist, collaborative artist and piano educator. My recent performances have included tours in France, Italy, Norway, and Argentina. I have performed in London (Wigmore Hall, the Purcell Room and St Martin-in-the-Fields), Edinburgh (Palace of Holyroodhouse), Perth Concert Hall, and at other venues across Great Britain. I have also broadcast for radio, including BBC Classics Unwrapped, BBC Radio 3 and La Matinale de France Musique for Radio France.
In 2024, I was appointed Lecturer in Piano at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS), after having taught at the RCS Junior Programme since 2017, now continuing to teach and mentor young pianists at both Junior and Senior Conservatoire. Since 2024 I also teach Music Scholars at St Andrews University. I regularly feature in invited lectures and masterclasses, including lecture recitals at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, the Ligeti Festival in Transylvania, Romania, and the Prague Piano Festival and teaching/masterclass invitations from the Purcell Specialist Music School and St Mary’s Specialist Music School.
Teaching piano is both my profession and my passion. As a Doctor of Performing Arts, I am committed to sharing my knowledge, experience, and expertise with enthusiastic students. I enjoy helping students develop their technique, musical understanding, confidence, and independence while discovering the joy of playing the piano.

About the lesson

My teaching is rooted in the renowned Russian School tradition, through which I was trained and developed as a pianist. I teach piano technique alongside confident and independent music reading, helping students develop both technical accuracy and deep musical understanding.

Teaching complete beginners is a fundamental part of my teaching work. It is both a privilege and a joy to watch students progress from their very first steps at the piano to becoming confident, accomplished young musicians. My past and present students have won top prizes in the national and international piano competitions.

My lessons focus on secure and fluent music reading, strong piano technique, musical expression, coordination, rhythm, and the practical skills needed to become an independent and confident pianist.

Lessons are one hour in duration both in person and online.
